A new interior for Stadshuis Nieuwegein
Library, municipality, community organisations, art, meeting and working: in the renewed Stadshuis Nieuwegein it all comes together. For this remarkable building we delivered all of the bespoke interior.
The library stretches across several floors and is full of bespoke work. From the large wooden ‘Noorderlicht’ bookcases that recur throughout the building to service desks, cabinets and playful elements for children and young people.
A project with so many different spaces and details can of course be shown in photos. But we thought: we can make that more fun.
Will you fly with us?
We sent an FPV drone through the library and take you through the interior in one smooth flight.
Past the bookcases, across the different floors and straight through the spaces where visitors read, work, learn and meet. Only then do you get a real sense of the scale of the project and of all the bespoke work that went into it.
For us a great way to show a project that many of our colleagues worked on.
Enough reading. Time to fly. Watch the video and fly with us through Bibliotheek Nieuwegein.

‘This feels like a family business’
Hemlock is not officially a family business. Yet according to our founders and directors August Jahangier and Peter Seegers, it often feels like one. In an extensive article they, together with several colleagues, talk about the way we work, the craftsmanship within Hemlock and above all the people who do it together every day.
Curious what we could realise for you?
We are happy to think along from design to realisation, with an eye for detail and execution.
